Your Contribution to IDAF-FLORIDA is needed

Dear Interior Design Colleagues,

As you are well aware, a Florida House Bill has been filed attempting to “De-Regulate” the profession of interior design and threatening our profession. The Interior Designs Association Foundation (IDAF) is working alongside ASID and IIDA to; protect your rights to manage your own business without the need to employ an architect, continue to advocate for the your right to sign and seal the interior design documents for permitting, protect the health, safety and welfare of consumers, and guaranteeing the professional opportunity of current students studying interior design in Florida’s colleges or universities.

IDAF appreciates the advocacy provided by ASID and IIDA and their legislative lobbying team from Akerman LLP, a preeminent Florida legal and legislative organization, to lobby on their behalf of their members. IDAF continues its 30 year old relationship with Ron Book and his team as IDAF’s legislative firm. As we all know from our successes through the title act, the practice act, legislative challenges and the previous De-Regulation Bill in 2011, there is a reason why Ron Book is listed as one of the top lobbyists in Florida.

This will not be an easy fight and time is of the essence. For those who have not had the opportunity to meet Ron Book, you should know that his understanding and compassion for our profession is limitless.  His drive to protect us is relentless. We, as the leaders of IDAF, are committed to the protection of the sovereign rights of each of you as a registered licensed interior.

At this time, IDAF is urgently requesting those who understand the significance of the situation and rapid passage of time in Tallahassee, to make a contribution to IDAF, so we can continue our exhaustive lobbying efforts.

IDAF is reaching out to select a core group of Registered Interior Designers and firms who have supported our important mission in the past and are able to make an impactful contribution which will used to protect your business and your license.

Contributions from this drive will be used to solely to continue our lobbying efforts by Ron Book and his staff. Please contact us at, for further explanation.

We ask that you please send your important contribution to:
